Blackbaud Partners with CAF America to Process Cross-Border Donations to Charitable Organizations in India

Agreement will assist with regulatory compliance, risk mitigation, and reputation protection for donations made through Blackbaud’s YourCause® platform

Charleston, SC and Alexandria, VA (July 9, 2024)Blackbaud (NASDAQ: BLKB), the leading provider of software for powering social impact, announced a partnership with CAF America, a global grantmaking organization, to support the processing of donations made through the YourCause® from Blackbaud® platform to charitable organizations based in India.

YourCause from Blackbaud provides modern, purpose-built software solutions designed to amplify the impact a company can make through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. YourCause expands what is possible for companies and their employees by connecting them to over nine million nonprofits globally through actions of giving, volunteering, social activity engagement, and grantmaking.

Donations made through the YourCause platform are disbursed to charitable organizations through the Blackbaud Giving Fund in select markets. Due to regulatory requirements in some parts of the world, Blackbaud will select a third party to process payments to ensure a database of eligible and vetted nonprofits. Through this agreement with CAF America, the Blackbaud Giving Fund will establish a Charity Advisement Fund to process donations made through the YourCause platform to India-based nonprofits and charities.

Blackbaud undertook an extensive vetting process to select a reputable organization that meets compliance with both U.S. regulations and local laws governing the movement of foreign charitable funds,” said Matt Nash, executive director, Blackbaud Giving Fund. “This agreement with CAF America helps ensure that due diligence is conducted to confirm that charities have been vetted and validated to protect YourCause donors. We’re excited to resume cross-border giving to support charitable organizations in India.”

“CAF America is pleased that Blackbaud selected our organization to assist with donation processing to charitable organizations located in India,” said Jessie Krafft, interim CEO of CAF America. “Our partnership—and commitment to regulatory and compliance best practices—will provide donors the opportunity to give to Indian-based charities with confidence.”
